RESUME OF THE CHIEF CONSULTANT

Amdissa Teshome has BA and MSc degrees in Economics and Ph.D. in
Distance Education. He began his career with the Ministry of Agriculture
in Ethiopia and has over 10 years of experience as researcher/trainer
at Imperial College at Wye (formerly Wye College) University of London.
This gives him a broad background to meet his clients’ needs. Locally,
he began his consultancy career in 1997/98 having obtained a Certificate
of Professional Competence from the Ethiopian Management Institute.
Dr Amdissa has written articles, conference papers and developed training
manuals, guidelines and handbooks in early warning, safety nets and targeting.
The manuals are based on adult learning principles and encourageactive learning
